Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of Nvidia, has returned to the ranking of the 10 richest people on the planet, according to Forbes magazine.

Huang, whose fortune is $137.4 billion, has stood out among billionaires amid advances in artificial intelligence (AI).

His return to the ranking is attributed to the recent rise in Nvidia shares. The company’s market value is now approaching $4 trillion, making it one of the most valuable in the world.

In the current fiscal quarter, Nvidia reported a net profit of $18.8 billion, an increase of 26% compared to the same period last year.

Regarding first-quarter figures, the company closed April with total revenue of $44.1 billion, a growth of 69% year over year.

As a result, the adjusted earnings per share were $0.96, surpassing the $0.89 estimates made by FactSet, an American financial data company.

Who is Jensen Huang?

Huang was born in Taiwan, spent his childhood in Thailand, and moved to the United States as a child. He began his career as a dishwasher at age 15.

“I highly recommend everyone to have their first job in the restaurant industry, which teaches humility and hard work,” explained the businessman.

He graduated in electrical engineering from Oregon State University in 1984, where he met his wife, Lori. He later earned a master’s degree at Stanford in California and began working in the technology sector.

In 1993, he founded Nvidia with two partners, Chris Malachowsky and Curtis Priem. Today, he owns about 3% of the company which, according to Reuters, controls approximately 80% of the advanced AI chip market.
